We made a submission on the Wellington Long Term Plan 2024-2034.

We made a submission on the Fast Track Approvals Bill. The purpose of this legislation is to have “a fast-track decision-making process that facilitates the delivery of infrastructure and development projects with significant regional or national benefits.” It will make approvals for government nominated projects faster by bypassing the usual assessments, consultation and decision-making process in other legislation. Please make a submission stating

  • you object to the legislation
  • you think public consultation is important for all legislation that affects a community
  • proper environmental assessment and adequate conditions are essential for all projects
  • a new Mt Victoria tunnel should not be included in this Bill, it will have far reaching impacts on our suburb and the community must be involved in the process
  • ask to be heard in support of your submission at the Select Committee
